Zela Health is based in Auckland, New Zealand. The owners are 5th
generation New Zealanders. We specialize in the development and
manufacture of nutritional health products. Our focus is on
addressing the needs of people who suffer from allergies or
intolerances and who can benefit from a daily nutritional
boost.
Zela nutritional powder was first introduced into the New Zealand
market in 1996. The Zela Health team possesses extensive experience
in the New Zealand Dairy, natural and health food markets and the
selling of these primary food products internationally.
Our R&D team is led by a food technologist involved in two NZ
Food Awards including one Supreme award. He is a Professional
Member, NZ Institute of Food Science and Technology and Past
Chairman of Quality Assurance Division of NZIFST.
We have strong quality assurance systems in place, insist on the
highest quality raw ingredients and that our blending and
manufacturing operations meet all NZ stringent MAF export
standards, ensuring our customers receive the best quality and
purity of ingredients.
PRODUCTION
Zela Health products are manufactured in a state-of-the-art New
Zealand Government certified dairy blending and packing factory
located in New Zealands largest city Auckland. This well equipped
and modern food packing factory specializes in dry powder blending,
can packing and sachet packing.
Certified by MAF (New Zealand Food Safety Authority), it operates
under a registered Risk Management Programme (RMP ID OIKOS11) and
is a registered Dairy Exporter.
This production facility provides us with an automatic canning line
that includes can cleaning, powder filling, check weighing,
nitrogen flushing, coding and packing. Additionally, we can pack
90gm and 900gm self-seal pouches and possess two sachet packing
lines to ensure rapid fulfillment of any orders.
NUTRITION
The Zela range of six delicious Whey-based nutrition formulas have
been developed to provide an alternative for people with
intolerance to dairy products, especially milk.
Zela is offered as a powder, similar to whole milk powder or skim
milk powder. It will store in its original sealed packaging or in
an airtight container for several years. When mixed with water and
made up as a beverage, it will retain its freshness in a
refrigerator for up to 7 days.

- No Calcium Caseinates and with 50% less lactose than standard
milk enables people diagnosed with milk intolerance to drink Zela
without experiencing the usual side effects.

- 25% less fat than whole milk
- Only a trace of Cholesterol, a fraction of standard milk
- 40% less sodium than standard or Trim milk
- Low Calories, similar to Trim milk
- A source of Calcium. One glass of Zela is equal to 34% of the
recommended daily intake
- Cooks and bakes in much the same way as milk powder
- Has a similar taste to milk.
ACCREDITATION
Zela Health manufacturing facilities are a MAF registered dairy
exporter and operate under MAF/NZFSA certified Risk Management
Programme. The production factory is in the process of applying for
organic, Halal, Kosher and ISO 22000 certification.
Zela is blended and packed to pre-approved specifications, under a
manufacturing system based on HACCP food safety principles. Every
batch of final product is subject to internal quality tests, and
external tests by an independent certified laboratory. This ensures
product conforms to microbiological and chemical criteria set by
New Zealand authorities (MAF) to fulfill export requirements for
infant formula and dairy powders.
